It's been in LJS a few time about needing to upgrade. The last article states that they can communicate with NSP with the new system.

I am wondering if they mite be going VHF? Or are they going 800 again and using a gateway to patch them together?

I'm a big fan of VHF and hope the rural fire jumps on VHF Better then 800 out there.

Anyone else have input?

I think this has been mentioned before on here. I would think they are going to a 800 P25 simulcast system or they could join the state system and still use 800mhz as a simulcast site. That way cost could be shared and state agencies could use the site that work within Lincoln, capitol security, state prisons, national guard and NEMA. Of course NSP could use it with their portables only, one of the stupidest things NSP did was get a single band mobile radio with dual band portables.

Most agencies can communicate with NSP via patching now.
