They are both licensed to Nextel - Reno region and both are in the FCC database. They may be in use by some agencies until the rebanding is complete. You didnt say what you were hearing with them.

Here is what I got when i did FCC search - the STA was probably issued until rebanding is completed - the two freqs are in the blocks that will be NEXTEL under the rebanding agreement - Sorry but I cant explain why the NEXTEL license didn't show on your search

OK, so it looks like Nextel has licenses for the whole band that they're going to move into. I thought the NPSPAC band had to be totally clear in a given area before they could fire up, but I guess they only have to give notice and adjacent protection to any agencies that are still there.

I did a Geographic search for 866.8125 in Nevada which took about 3 minutes, and I got the Nextel licenses that way. Can you post the actual search string that you used, or what part of the database you're searching? I'm curious why the other searches don't show both results for the other frequency.

866.8125 Mhz Was Clear At Bordertown To Jct Sr70/us395 And Near The
Mount Rose Jct. Shannon

It's at 10,100 feet, but it's shadowed out to the east. I wonder if there's another site out there. I'm surprised I haven't heard it before, but I've only used what's in the database. How do you determine the LCN's?

I used the FCC ULS (Universal Licensing System) - Link below - Click on "licenses" (you don't have to register unless you are submitting applications or documents) - in this instance I clicked on the "advanced license search" - you can use whatever info you have - down toward the bottom of the form you can put in frequency info - then click on the "Geosearch" button - this brings up new page where you can put in geo data - In this case I used Nevada and Washoe county - then hit the search button at the bottom of the form - only took about 30 seconds - Like I said I am as stumped as you probably are as to why they didnt show up !!- I assume you are probably using the same thing as I am
