Was informed from Amateur Electronics Supply in LV today that the new book, 8th edition is in stock. Down to AES I go to pick one up.

Southern NV Scanner Book - Question 1

Does this new edition contain the disposition codes for the NHP? If not, does anyone know what they are?

After acquiring my new copy I did a page by page comparison for new, changes or additions to an existing item, and deletions. I found 203 new informational items, 60 changes or additions to an existing item, and 12 deletions. I won't list them page by page unless someone really wants to know but did detect many more items for across the border in Mohave Co AZ, some of which you can hear in the LV valley, the newly licensed but not yet used rebanding frequencies for the SNACC system for each site, many new SNACC user IDs', a new section dealing with airport and hazmat emergency codes, some additional user IDs' for the NSRS, more frequencies for various State of NV agencies using conventional systems, some new federal frequencies, more UHF military aircraft frequencies, some additional hotel & casino information, updated ham radio repeater listings for Southern Nevada. Other changes were also noted and it appears to be a worthwhile yearly investment for my bookshelf.

I also noted that Radio World in Boulder City, Nevada is also carrying the book. AES has a big pile of the books behind the counter.

The copy quality appears to be better than in the past and looks like it was done on some type of desktop printer and the copy well stapled. Sixty eight pages of useful information for monitor radio listeners whether they be new to the hobby or old timers like myself. A light pink cover is noted for this edition dated Feb. 2009.

A job well done.

Difference between Southern NV Scanner Book and RR Database

Has anyone determine if there are many differenences between the new Southern NV Scanner book (9th edition, I think) and the RR database regarding the Nevada Shared Radio System (NSRS) frequencies for sites such as PRIMM, Jean, Sloan, Las Vegas, etc? If there are differences noted, I'm particular interested the above mentoined sites.
