Default 161.13

I briefly heard traffic on 161.1300 PL 127.3 Fm today, had the 500 set to search railroad band because I heard a train making its way thru town. I was using the RH77CA. Is this a railroad channel? Do they have pl tones for trains? I never tried this band before so I thought I'd ask around. And while on the subject does anyone have any favorites locally in the railraod band?

My favorites for the Union Pacific are 160.515 and 160.290 (the PBX or switchboard for telephone interconnect) and for the Las Vegas Monorail 161.055, 160.980 and 161.130. These are all in the Railroad Service according to the FCC. They sometimes become most interesting when a derailment or other major incident happens like a drunk sitting on the tracks and gets hit by a train which the BNSF had to deal with in Kingman, AZ about a month ago. They can have PL tones.

Railroads don't generally use PL, but 161.1300 is also licensed to the Las Vegas Monorail Co. They might be a good addition to the database if you can verify it.
