Default Reno Fire Talkgroup Question

Spending a long weekend in Reno...why does Reno Fire dispatch first on "Tac-4" and the repeat on Red...it was my understanding that Red was their main ops channel...got to listen to the multi-alarm fire on riday night...

Tac 4 is what is heard in the stations when the zeetron system goes off. Dispatch then repeats the call on red for everyone else who is out and about on the radio and listening. My recommendation is to lock out tac 4 because you will hear the same traffic on red 30 seconds later. There are times where I have missed interesting traffic on red because my scanner has locked onto tac 4 for a station page.
