Anybody in Reno know if they have rebanded Slide Mt.? I am in Gardnerville and all of my trunking radios have gone dead. Also, as I understand it, all you have to do to compensate for the rebanding is to subtract 15MHz off the old frequencies. When you do this does it change the order of frequencies lcn?

Thank you,

I am trying to figure this our myself. I live just below Slide in Washoe and my Slide Mt is dead. Reno is still alive and well. I am looking into this rebanding stuff and I will let you know what I find once I figure out this rebanding on my Uniden 996.

I have just started reading but if someone wants to offer up the cliff notes, get it working version, I am all over it. The DB here still has the same freqs so I don't know.

The last several days I've looked all over the internet to find the answer to this and so far, no luck. I have discovered that in the RR database under Washoe County EDACS Networked Standard System Frequencies if you pull up the site details it will tell if it has been rebanded. From this I learned that the only site that has the new frequencies is Virginia Peak. I'm not sure if I can receive this down here. I believe it is near Nixon. I then tried this with the state system and it says Minden has been rebanded. I loaded these in my P97 and have yet to hear anything. But, there never was much traffic on this since it was put in service. Mike, what site are you hearing Reno on? Thanks for the replies -hopefully we can figure this thing out.

The "Metro Simulcast" here in the RR database is still working for me. But that would be a stretch for you to receive. Virginia Peak would be a stretch for either of us.

I guess I need to break down and read some more to figure out what needs to be done. I really wasn't ready to spend the time on this right now.

The slide mtn trs system was rebanded on 11-10-2009

shannon
Shannon do you have more information? Do you have freqs?

I just spent a couple hours updating my scanner to the latest firmware but that didn't change anything on Slide for me. Apparently there is freq changes too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

TIA!

Well that is as far as I got. Still nothing here. Sadly there has been 126 views to this thread and not an answer. Maybe no one knows.

Currently in the DB:
Slide Mountain is
01 854.96250
02 857.48750
03 857.98750
04 859.23750
05 859.76250
06 860.26250
07 866.72500
08 866.97500
09 867.90000
10 866.75000
11 860.76250
12 859.46250

What is changed on Slide Mt according to the 800ta website is:
860.2625
860.7625

So is the assumption then
06 = 860.2625 to 845.2625
11 = 860.7625 to 845.7625

Just scanning in search mode I get control on
851.7250

??

Its late and I need to go to bed. Will check more in the AM. Plus that will give my handheld time to recharge.

All licensees with channels between 866-869 MHz (NPSPAC) must relocate to equivalent channels between 851-854
So can one assume that the new freqs are...
01 854.96250
02 857.48750
03 857.98750
04 859.23750
05 859.76250
06 845.26250
07 851.72500
08 851.97500
09 852.90000
10 851.75000
11 845.76250
12 859.46250

I'll report back in an hour or two. I am confused as to why the 800ta website didn't address all the freqs 860 and above? Instead of just 2 at 860. But I'm only my fist cup of coffee. ;)

Slide Mt. rebanding

Mike - Thanks for solving the problem. I programmed in the freqs. that you came up with and none of my radios (BCT15, BC785, Pro2055, Pro97,and Pro95) would take the 2 845 freqs. I believe these are in the blocked out cell phone range. However, it does seem to be working. I am getting some traffic - but not sure if I am receiving everything. I appreciate your help.

I don't think those support the rebanding. Check the list on the rebanding pages. I had to upgrade my BC996T firmware but my BC246T handled it without a hitch. I may have upgraded the firmware on it in the past. I have an extra BC246T if you are interested in getting something. I keep seeing it in my office and think about selling it but never got around to it. One day I want to get the new zillion channel Uniden hand held but right now I am lucky if I can afford to pay attention.

I don't have a clue how he is getting them into the 246 but I can tell you I can positively tell you that the 845.xxxx are out of band - just to make sure I tried putting them in my 996T and it rejected both of them. Additionaly if you look at the specs for the new 996XT, 346XT, 15X - that is not in the coverage range of the scanner and they already are set up for the reband. The 860.xxxx frequencies are in the expansion band and I believe Washoe County opted to keep those two frequencies on Slide - I will try to find out more
