Was recently visiting a friend in Beatty. Went to visit Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge and noticed VHF equipment on vehicles.

Does anyone have the frequency(ies) used by this facility?

This is run by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Thanks

Sadly the USF&W move to VHF High from Low-Band has seen little notice from scannists. A few of them have been found [East Coast] and posted, but not all.

Try 162-174 Mhz and look for P25 as many have moved to Digital.

Ash Meadows is in the Desert National Wildlife Refuges Complex. The last I heard, which has been several years, the Complex is on 164.625. This is a very common USFWS frequency, especially in Arizona and New Mexico. Due to narrow banding this frequency may have changed. I don't know where they have a repeater, possibly north of Las Vegas. If Ash Meadows can't get into the repeater then listening there would be on simplex and I can't imagine there is much traffic. Verifying the frequency, even if you know what it probably is, would be difficult.

Give 164.625 a try and let us know what you come up with.
