Default Nevada Shared system

Im visiting Las Vegas for the week and programmed my Pro 197 for the Nevada system so I could monitor the highway patrol while Im here. However Im not getting anything. I programmed all the area control channels and set the program for EDACS standard. Im getting a good signal on the S meter, but no trunking indication. Anything I may be doing wrong or some secret to getting their system programmed?

Make sure you program ALL the frequencies for each site in the order they are listed. EDACS requires all the frequencies unlike some other systems.

I have found the Rio Hotel frequencies to give the best enjoyment for the strip area. You are only loading one site into each bank/folder and using all the frequencies as they are listed in the database? I listen to the Rio site from my home in the northwest part of the valley to work at Russell Rd and I-15.

Using the Win500 program, go to the database and download the Rio site only. The frequencies have already been changed to show the re-banding. Talk groups to use should be LV-1,2,3, with Tacs and Car to Car 1,2,3. This should automatically set the system up for you. Hope this helps you.
