Hi all,

Does anybody have scanner frequencies for Sierra Pacific Power (SPP) in Washoe County? Have they moved to the DOT frequencies yet? Everything I'm finding online is outdated or related to Las Vegas.

We're gonna lose power in Incline Village at any moment and, given the conditions and road closures, it feels like it might be a prolonged outtage.

Any help is appreciated.

Sierra Pacific Power utilizes the Nevada Shared Radio System as their primary method of communications. Using the AFS format, 07 is the agency identifier. Sixty-three talk groups for them are shown in the Third Edition of the Southern Nevada Radio Scanner Book which largely concerns Southern Nevada as it suggests but has some information for Northern Nevada. Some of us hope that the book will be expanded to cover the rest of Nevada. Radio World in Boulder City carries the book if you are looking for one. They can be reached at 702-294-2666. Also, Amateur Electronics Supply in LV has it, I think.

During Thanksgiving on a visit to Reno, I heard Sierra Pacific Power using the state's trunked system. I programmed in the talkgroups using the information given in the Southern Nevada book mentioned. There was a big windstorm during the Thanksgiving holiday and I heard some traffic related to line trouble.
