It's listed in the rrdb as a X2-TDMA type system. Not so sure about that. I caught some traffic on the system this afternoon with my non-x2tdma scanner. The PSR-500 only does FDMA Phase 1. I heard traffic on this system and also tracked it with DSD using the GPSK phase 1 key. It's good the system is finally being used, even better I don't need X2-TDMA yet. So anyone here have more info on the system? When did the radios get handed out?

Some allied agencies have had radios issued for a month at least. That's how long I have had mine, but I haven't been south of Tonopah since September.

I think the DB will list it as TDMA if the control channel is announcing it is capable of that. Doesn't mean the talkgroups are actually using TDMA.

The system is omni linked to their other system 4A36 it will do do both FDMA phase 1 and TDMA phase 2 all the talk groups are the same between the two. They mostly do testing on it never really loged any use yet, the system has been in radios for 6 months plus.

TGID's

All the talk groups are the same? Well I'm missing something here because that's not what showed up on the scanner or DSD. In fact all the comms I heard were only on three tgids. The radio id's were different for every person talking not the group id's. Just one of the strange things I noticed while monitoring the system. The pro96com found it and showed the same data as in the rrdb for freqs and sites. The tgid's were in four digit format. The radio id's five digit format. I could not match any of the five digit tgid's to the currently posted rrdb. Probably because they are radio id's not tgid's. But as far as I can see there are no four digit tgid's in the SNACC system are there? Is that a result of the linking process? A digital change in the packet? I'm just trying to figure out how to set this up in the scanner to track FDMA correctly and hopefully alpha tag the tgid's.

Pro96Com shows TG's and radio ID's in decimal format, most of the traffic on system 461 will be TG's not listed in the RR database. The 3 digit TG's are mainly digital TG's which are not seen on system 4A36 you need to do some converting from decimal to hex. Example College of Southern Nevada hex TG 4CB from RR database converted to decimal is 1227 if seen on system 461. As far as radio ID's all should be 5 digit decimal formats.
