HFD fire dispatch on the SNACC system just had an open mic and it is so interesting when these things happen. The dispatcher as many do forget that people can hear every word that is transmitted and of course four letter words were being spoken by her. Real entertainment.

At the place where I used to work the handheld units had a red distress button that was right near the base of the carry handle, er, antennae, and it was not hard to inadvertently hit it. When you did your mike was open to all to hear for a few seconds and you’d occasionally hear the odd Tourette diatribe.
