I just returned for the old Leviathan Pk LO, i spent a could hours up there monitoring the fire with my new radio. The fire is now 6000 acres, and still very active. Some NIFC Tact channels are being used. I dont have a whole lot of info right now but ill try to get my hands on some more. Also multiple strike teams are enroute

Not that it matters for the Jackass fire, but I noticed you listed 155.710 for Mono County Fire. 155.760 is the input for 153.860, the net that is called "county fire" in Mono County. I've never heard of 155.710 being used.

I got 155.7100 from a note i took late one night when East Fork Fire and Paramedic Dists were tonned for a mutual aid request to Walker Ca for a working structure fire. Dispatch said to program their radios to Tx 153.8600and Rx on 155.7100 with a pl of 141.3. But from the comments i got, she must have been wrong.

Actually 155.710 is not licensed ANYWHERE, it is not a valid frequency in any bandplan. The nearest valid frequency is 155.715.

That does not always mean anything as narrowbanding has introduced new splinter-stepped frequencies and also they have not always cared historically. For instance our fire repeater input here is 156.330

Splinter frequencies in this part of the band are 7.5 khz off the existing channels. 155.710mhz does not fix the bandplan , either existing or the new splinter frequencies (it is 5khz off an valid channel). There is no guesswork about it, the channels are all wel defined and every channel is listed in FCC part 90.

You are very right about not caring historically. For years Sierra county ran an illegal fire repeater on 154.000 (also not a valid channel) which repeated their lowband fire traffic. But people started asking about it due to some interference issuses and it is now gone. They still run an illegal fire repeater on 153.830 which is licensed as a 2 watt mobile repeater/2 watt mobile but is at a fixed location on a fixed antenna (WNVS716).

In my experience licenses don't mean much to most operators. That being said he could have been listening to something on the splinter 155.7075, that would have probably come into the receiver clearly, or even 155.715 depending on the receiver. Some receivers I have used would receive something off by 5 KC just fine.
