Default wild fire question

What dose TX and RX mean on this wildfire plan? http://gacc.nifc.gov/wgbc/logistics/...eragencyfm.pdf

And what dose "TONE" mean on the list below?

Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District
Frequency License Type Tone Description Mode
158.74500 KYX265 BM 146.2 PL TM Main FM
158.94000 KNBB762 BM 107.2 PL TM Tactical - South FM

Thanks for the help!

Tx means Transmit and Rx means receive. Tone means a CTCSS or PL tone. These tones allow radios to pick up only traffic from their group. You can hear everything that happens on a frequency without putting in these tones. You Will however, need to enter the tone code if you transmit with the agency listed. CTCSS- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CTCSS PL- http://www.dra73.org/pl.html

Yea I was talking to Biddle about this just the other day. He was asking me if I monitored the TM tacs because he was hearing working fires on them and they sounded like they were off the EDACS system.

Yeah, if i remember correctly, the reasoning behind this is so that RFD can have the assignment on Gold or Silver and still be on a non-trunked (sorry i just blanked UHF or VHF) radio to talk to BLM and such.
