Nashua fire dispatch frequency

I have had one person ask me is why can't hear the
tone output or did they go silent. What I said was that
the frequency for dispatch is 151.250 as its announced during a daily tone test twice a day

Tone test is done at 0800 & 1800 HRS.

But the fire dispatch uses also with the police on

851.600 851.775 851.975. So either way the FD can be
hear on any channel listed here.

851.600 / 851.775 / 851.975 are the digital freqs in that system. I wonder, can you program those freqs in ONLY, as long as you put the LCN numbers in? I can hear Nashua on those open nights. I remember about 6 or 7 years ago I was at Radio shack buying my pro 94. The employees started talking about Nashua re-band. Oh-you wont hear them anymore,they are phasing out. I knew nothing about trunking at the time. Well, with time and reading, I got into trunking. I kept asking myself " how do they PHASE OUT?" Well, their re-band came-and perfect timing. I bought a bcd396xt, programmed it according to wiki. I couldnt wait for an open night to try it. I went to a high spot and got a signal. I then examined the freqs on a conventional level. I noticed the analog freqs were sepparate from the p25 freqs. I thought to myself--if thats phasing out, then what do you sales reps call the reception I am getting? I say--know what you are selling, no guesses or rumors. $10.00 says they know EVERY feature on cell phones and mp3 players. Some of them cant even spell P.L... --my thoghts..

Nashua is a "Motorola" trunk, LCN's are not used

I have always had an issue w/ 151.2500 for their dispatch. When you have the PL tone on the coverage will sound like it is skipping. Try listening to it w/o the PL tone programmed.

Also, with the trunk system, NFR uses two talkgroups for dispatch that are patched into whatever station they are toning. One is for Fire calls (CH-1) and the other is for EMS/Fire calls (CH-8) There are, to my knowledge, two analog talkgroups that simulcast only the tone for both dispatches. If you scan open, and allow the status bit options, you will notice that a talkgroup is created when the Fire and EMS dispatch is activated. I forget what it is exactly, but this is also a good talkgroup to save.

What you do is enter the four control channels (852.5500, 852.7500, 853.2625, 853.4500) and then the talkgroups you are interested in (ex Fire Dispatch 32784) and save them as a Motorola trunked system.

The control channel tells the scanner what voice channel to listen to depending on what the system controller assigns to the talkgroup

151.2500 does not simulcast anything, when a call is dispatched they multi-select Fire Dispatch and if needed EMS Dispatch and 151.2500. So basically all that is heard on 151.2500 is a call being dispatched or the tone test.
