The national weather service in mount holly nj has confirmed a
tornado near manahawkin in ocean county new jersey on august 13,
2013.
A storm survey was conducted in manahawkin ocean county. The
tornado touched down near the intersection of route 9 and oak
avenue. Numerous trees were blown down or snapped along the path
of this tornado. There was roof damage to several church buildings
and a tree fell on a garage. The tornado lifted near the
intersection of hilliard blvd and beach avenue.
The national weather service thanks the ocean county office of
emergency management and the mayor and police chief of manahawkin
for their assistance with this survey.
