LifeStar Ambulance

I've seen these LifeStar ambulances here and there but always thought they only do non-emergency transports. But today I saw a LifeStar ambulance with its lights and sirens on, as if responding to a 911 call. This was in Saddle Brook/Fair Lawn area. Which made me wonder if they are dispatched by radio. Anyone know of a freq they might be dispatched on?

I did not see any antennas. But I am sure they must have some sort of radio to communicate with the hospitals at least.

LifeStar headquarters is in Totowa I think and they use Nextel.

We have close to 50 BLS ambulances and 14 critical-care ambulances on the road each day. We provide 911 response (dispatched by MICCOM) for several areas in and around Totowa, NJ. We also respond to BLS and SCTU emergencies in many areas of Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Middlesex, Union, and now Sussex county. We have a dedicated 911 BLS ambulance in Totowa, it signs on with MICCOM VHF (155.175) as 60-11. All other dispatch is via NEXTEL.
