Here is an easier to read manual, it may help a little:

Easier to Read BC246T Scanner Manual

Look for the frequencies you want here:

Time to start reading, darticus...

In addition to what the other 2 posters have supplied, we also have a decent FAQ on the Uniden DMA scanners; to get to it, float your mouse over Wiki in the blue toolbar under the Scanner Master ad, and click on FAQs. The Uniden DMA FAQ is indexed under 'U'.

You might want software to program your scanner, and it just so happens that FreeScan is freeware - download and install it. The user manual is also hosted in our wiki - select Software from the Wiki pulldown

To get data from the entry Highpockets gave, you will need a premium subscription. Information on that is in the About pulldown in the same toolbar as the wiki. Just float your mouse over it and click on the link.

Finally, most PCs don't come with serial ports - however they do have USB ports. Uniden sells their USB-1 interface, and you can get that from Scanner Master. You might do better to pull the drivers found in the FreeScan downloads area, as the ones from Uniden have been found to be suspect (i.e. old).

I think that's enough for now. Did I mention that you need to start reading? hi
