Default Duplicate/Superfluous Submissions to the Database

Guys & Gals,

I've been going over the recent database submissions this afternoon, and I feel the need to make a friendly reminder to those submitting info to the database:

PLEASE - verify the data you are submitting to the best of your knowledge! Recent changes were added to Manville Borough where the exact same frequency was submitted to the database for both "PD 3' and 'Fire 2'. The frequency wasn't even correct (153.750, it's 153.755), and no callsign was included either (I found it as KFI533). Some of the other admins are QUITE far away from here, and have no way of verifying the data you submit!

As one of the main NJ admins, I have a HIGH rejection rate for data submitted. I want to keep our little corner of the world here as neat & accurate as possible - I ask that you do the same with your submissions from this point forward.

I also ask the user that submitted the data pertaining to the recent changes in Somerset County to please contact me via PM to clarify/authenticate where he/she got the data from...

/rant off

This one got my attention (Bucks County TRS recent update:

Bucks County System Updated (Changed Custom Frequency Table: [501.0375 | 25.0 | 380] to [501.0375 | 25.0 | 380])

It's not the first time that I see entries where the from: to: are identical.

Yes, someone also changed the names of the 4 locations from 'Site' to 'System' - that's also improper. If all 4 locations simulcast the same traffic on the same SysID, they're sites, not separate systems!

Unfortunately when submissions sit around for a while without being worked by a Local Admin, the Global Admin's tend to jump in to clear the queue out.

It looks like the site name change on Bucks County was done by in May by a Local Admin. I've changed the names to Site 1 through 4 since that's more correct.

I also hate to break this to you but I have been getting e-mails about Bergenscanner being outdated, but when I check the RR database against my municipal list my stuff is accurate 95% of the time. People have stop comparing websiteds and actually START LISTENING!

they dont have any 151.490's ? ask them
And the County trunk freg or almost trunk freg's have never been listed yet they have been license for over a year or more and they do have a channel up Justine has has them listed as tacs; i have heard them use sometimes! why RR hasnt listed them ?
and the 800 old MDT freq's they havent had them in years? ask them too

W2SJW's freescan file from a while ago had 151.4900 D664 as Hillsdale PD 2, seems to make sense since they have a Channel 2 that is a private channel that they go to once in a while. Westwood 9 154.9500 D023 is correct, I hear them on that everyday "Go to 9". That freq is also used by Rivervale PD with no PL and inversion scrambling.

Mike - Thanks for jumping in - I'm sure if you knew how busy I am at work, you'd forgive me for letting my que slip a little!

#2 - I don't have that part of North Jersey in my 396XT - you must have my FreeScan file confused with someone else!

BTW - Alarmguy, who do you work for (if you don't mind me asking)?

Guess you're right not your file, my bad. I know I downloaded it of KC2KZZ's files section, I have to look again. Somehow since your file from way back is on there I must have confused it with another. Who do I work for??? Myself its a family business.
