NJSP Database Overhaul
Ladies & Gentlemen,
I am proud to announce that the update of the NJSP in the database to a single-entry setup (to properly reflect it's status as an OmniLink system) has been completed.
I started the migration at 8:00pm on 9/24 & finished it at 11:45 this morning (did not work on it on 9/25 - family get-together).
My apologies for taking so long to get this done, but I think it's time for a nice cold beer & take the rest of the day off!
New Jersey State Police Trunking System, Statewide, New Jersey - Scanner Frequencies
I've got six entries in my que as recent submissions. I'll try to get those in by this evening...

I'll follow that up with a second, hands down! I wasn't aware that the NJ State Park PD had a 2nd channel (Ops) on their XTS1500's!

state police
and also i see in the data base that all the frequencies are together now, is that how we have to use them now ? download the whole thing to our scanners ? instead of before where they were separated, like as in troop c having there own set of frequencies etc... and can you also help me here with the reception part of this system, i am in riverside burlington couty area, and i can never pick them up around my area i always have to go in my truck and drive around to a different area to be able to pick them up, i think the closest towers around here are the one in berlin and the other one being in bordentown, do you know if they added anymore towers in my area ?

You only need to program the frequencies in for the sites that you are close to. I can't help you much with the Burlington coverage issues, only that I know the Berlin tower site does both Troop A & C, just like the Cherryville site near me does B & C.
Many new scanners can handle mutli-site trunking - this will now make programming them easier, especially if you use web import.
Highpockets & GM - thank you very much!

The 'North', 'Central', & 'South' simulcast sites are the main part of the system, equivalent to the old way of listing 'Troop B, Troop C, & Troop A'.
The intelli-repeaters only have to be programmed if you are in the areas shown as the location of the site - they only carry limited traffic of the units that are affiliated to the intelli-repeater.
If a unit leaves the coverage area, the transmissions will stop. Hopefully the unit will have moved back into an area covered by the three main sites!
Also - no one needs to change anything about their programming due to this database update. You may find more new talkgroups listed that you didn't know were part of the system. If you have been tracking the system just fine up until now, nothing has occurred that would warrant any major changes to your units...

state police
so W2SJW let me ask you this are you done updating everything in the database now as of sunday the 27 th ? i wanted to ask you so i can update my396 xt, and if so what can i do to hear everything all the talkgroups through the state ? do i just program in the central site ? which i guess is the old troop c ? thats what i have in my radio now those 14 frequencies from troop c, or do i have to download all the sites in like the south one and the wldwood one and the rest of them ? would i need to put them all in to hear everything ? or can i just run all the talk group ids off of the central site ? and one more ? i guess if i use the butel arc software to download the state police page, i guess all the sites will download with it anyways ?

and also i guess if i did have all the sites programmed in my 396 xt then i guess that would be good for going mobile right ? to hear everything or to hit another tower in case i loose range of the ones near me ?
