Exclamation open carrier on 345.000 ?

anybody else in n.j./n.y. area getting a stuck carrier on 345.000 uscg air primary ?. it's been like this since yesterday. even with my scanner's fully squelched i can't get rid of it.
i talked to my buddy in northern ocean county.he is not getting it.

What model scanner? Check the manual... maybe it's a birdie frequency?

Could be Cable TV channel 44 leaking out from your local cable company.

Cable TV leakage generally has a local area presence and does not cover a wide expanse
as has been described in this thread. Also if it is leaking in an analog format there is usually
an audio component associated with it - such as partially audible voice or video buzz.

got it first thing this morning on my portable driving to work. locked it out. yes, every scanner i got it on is a bearcat. 898t,396xt and 996xt. i'll hook up my old reliable pro-2006 when i get home.

Still getting this morning at 7:10 am in central NJ. Its not cable TV leakage. This was always a clean frequency. This signal just appeared yesrerday.

Sorry did not jump in sooner but no issue in Somers Point. In fact last night it was active as a search was underway in the Brigantine Inlet for overdue boaters.

just turned it on. it does not seem to be an issue any longer.tested on 2 uniden's.thank's to all that helped.

345.000 I get nothing in clifton.Check your computer cables,fax machines,router cables,cable boxes,you have something making noise over there!

magicjellybeans - i don't have a computer,fax, router or cable box in my car !. tech792 heard the same thing i heard also. the problem was rectified after 2 day's or so. thank's for playing though. LOL.
