Default New Brunswick

How far north can you pick up New Brunswick FD/PD? I'm in West Orange with about 400' elevation and I can't hear anything from New Brunswick FD or PD. I can hear Edison FD and Perth Amboy FD loud and clear so I wouldn't think distance would be an issue unless they broadcast at a lower power than normal.

NB's more south-west of you so the mountains can be affecting you. FWIW, I'm in Woodbridge and barely pick up NB. I have to move the radio around to get a good signal. Readable, but scratchy.

don't worry, you're not the only one. typically, municipalities along that stretch of the raritan river, due to low elevation, hilly terrain and tall buildings, have very limited transmission integrity over distance (you see this pattern with not just NB, but also with nearby Piscataway and Franklin Townships).
and, naturally & unfortunately, there's not much you can do about that
