Thanks, I've got that info update already (didn't want to waste a post about another frequency being added to the mix, I updated the database quietly!).

Hm, weird. I was monitoring the Somerset Trunk on my BC370CRS today (Not a digital scanner at all) But I had it running next to my 996XT, and the thing was picking up It's P25 voice traffic clear as day. Been doing this ever since they transitioned to the new system. Hearing Branchburg and Raritan constantly on traffic stops.
This puzzled me. Is Somerset doing some kinda Simulcast?

Yes. Branchburg & Raritan have had the full P25-capable radios from the start, and they regularly alternate between the P25 test site & the current system.
If they operate on P25, you will not hear their traffic simulcast on the type-II. If they are operating on the type-II, that traffic gets simulcast on the P25.

Yeah, that's what I thought. Looks like all is going well so far at least. Let's hope It continues to be a smooth transition for the rest of the county.

Dunno if it helps, but this application is pending. And if you check in attachments under the Admin tab, those documents contain some good info. Currently it appears this application for modification is stalled pending a waiver review...
ULS Application - Public Safety Pool, Trunked - 0004994418 - SOMERSET COUNTY DEPT OF HEALTH & PUBLIC SAFETY
And they also have these pending as well. Lots of modifications it looks like...
ULS Application - Public Safety Pool, Trunked - 0004994929 - SOMERSET COUNTY DEPT OF HEALTH & PUBLIC SAFETY
ULS Application - Public Safety Pool, Trunked - 0004598366 - Somerset County Department of Health and Public Safety - Applied For 02/01/2012

Database has been updated...

Was just about to post that here for you to update, lol. Somerville PD special-requested that they go on Region 6 with Raritan, which is why they're not on PD 5 w/ Branchburg. Geographically, it does make sense, so I'm not surprised. (Personally, I feel that the current PD regionalization plan is a bit haphazard, but it is what it is.)

Having some issues listening in. For a Uniden BC346XT, does this look correct for the custom table?
Lower Upper Spacing Offset
500.3375 501.5625 25 380 (+ Polarity)
501.9125 502.3875 25 430 (+ Polarity)
502.2125 509.9375 25 450 (+ Polarity)
Do I need to include the 471/477 customs also even though I'm not programming in the Franklin site?

You do not enter the 4th & 5th table pairs. It's impossible to scan the main county site & the Franklin site in the same system.
As mentioned by me before, I fought the valiant fight to keep Franklin separate from the county system for this (and other reasons) to no avail.
The third set should be this:
502.5125 - 510.2375 - 25 - 450 - (+ Polarity)

Thanks Scott. You're a gentleman and a scholar. -- Yeah, why is Franklin included? Isn't it a separate system?

The simple answer is because they share the same site controller & broadcast the same SysID...

Also confirmed that Somerville FD is now on the TRS for main operations (yet another town completes a clean-sweep migration!).

Ah yes, they've been on for a couple months now. PD was last to go. Sometime soon, Bernards Twp should be making the switch all at once, sending Long Hill Twp off to MIRS in the process.

I still seem to be having problems picking up the Somerset system on my Pro-106. I always hear communications on the recycling channel but barely hearing any communications on any other groups. I have my radio programmed via the information in radio reference, so all of the tables and frequencies should be correc. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

System Transition & Update
As usual this is Un-offcial but deemed to be reliable.
The transition to 9600 digital will be moving along slowly. The reality is that there are only a few channels
presently available for the entire subscriber fleet. So system capacity is very limited.
So what to do?
Move all of the transportation and recycling subcribers off the Somerset County radio system completely.
They are airtime hogs anyway!
These radios are not forward compatible and why invest in newer radios that will again be
obsolete due to the goverment takeover of 470-512.
So these subscribers will move to the State 700MHZ PSIC system that is up and running.
Testing has been done and coverage is adaquate.
This will free up channels to be allocated from 3600 to 9600.
This will then free up system capacity to permit the system migation to 9600.
Quite a balancing act!

I hope this won't become a trend. NJPSIC will wind up being the dumping ground for misfit users.

What site covers Somerset County? I monitor site 102 because it is the only one I can pick up from where I am and hear little traffic on it.
