I think Bearfort is a paper-only site. I just checked the reported peers for every site in northern NJ, and not one of them show a site that is not already documented. Ramapo, Bowling Green or High Point would've certainly been reporting a site there as a peer. Less likely is that it's actually part of a 2-site simulcast with one of those other sites.

I'd be interested in anything you find in the Cranbury area. Happy hunting!

However if it was such, a location and range would still help. I seem to have lost some PDF files. You have the supposed frequencies for the sites or did it never get that far?

I have no frequencies or exact coordinates for either site, unfortunately. I can give you ballpark coordinates based on their locations on the site map, though.

Bearfort: 41.115628, -74.412112 (somewhere near West Milford, Passaic)

Cranbury: 40.315852, -74.514385 (looks to be pretty near to I-95)

Thumbs up

I would think the Cranbury site would be at the Troop D State Police barracks on the Turnpike, as it was suggested. There is already a 217 MHz repeater tower on site for the NJTP's LTR Passport TRS, so that would be a step in the right direction as far as location is concerned. The Bearfort site and Wildwood would be a mystery though (as the search continues...)

I remember there being a Bulls Island Site a few years back. Is that still around? That could be the missing 044.

Okay...the findings from today are simple. Neither exist. I was right on top of all possible locations and the low S-meter readings and site ID's made it clear there's nothing. They're paper sites (or at best not on air). I did find something interesting in Cranbury though, which is likely not State related but...

774.34375 CC Unknown P25 System (No ID Transmitted)
773.81875 CC Unknown P25 System (No ID Transmitted)
769.96874 CC Unknown P25 System (No ID Transmitted)

None of these were receivable with antenna removed in Cranbury proper or Molly Pitcher. But they were strong with the mobile whip attached. Unfortunately a brain fart caused the loss the Pro96Com data.

Thanks for checking them out, I had a feeling they either didn't exist or weren't on the air yet.

774.34375 - Bordentown Simulcast
773.81875 - Bordentown Simulcast
769.96875 - W Orange and Hammonton Simulcasts

Those frequencies are all part of existing sites. I suspect you were hearing a P25 signal, just not a control channel.

That would make sense. Thanks dude.

Noticed after midnight tonight some Turnpike Central units started calling dispatch as 4-Comm, some still calling 1-Comm. Insight anyone?

Potential new IR site - I was scanning last night here in northern Branchburg, and I'm getting almost full-scale signal on my 396XT on 859.7125.

The site ID is showing as B11E-052, and I see that's not listed yet in the database. I wonder if they put an IR site back up on the Cherryville tower...

Yup, I just saw it pop up in Unitrunker. Interesting.

I'm no longer seeing B11E-045 being reported as active, though (at least not as a peer of the North system, which is what I'm tracking). Are you tracking the Central system, do you see 045?

I'm still in the same situation that I spoke of in the PM to you guys. I'm still trying to resolve the USB-1 driver issue here on Win8.

If I fix that, I'll fire up UniTrunker (assuming that works on 8)...

Roger that!

The only IR's we've been able to definitively confirm so far, thanks to John B., are 042 Easton and 043 Montana Mtn. The rest are all up in the air as far as if they've retained their locations after the site # changes last year.

Yay! I got both issues resolved!

The only peer it shows is B11D-011.

Looking at the main B11D site, it's actively showing 41, 42, 43, 44, & 52.

That's interesting, the only peer the Central IR B11E-052 shows is the North simulcast? I'm confused haha

I'm showing the same peers for B11D.

I'm showing the same peers for B11D.
I sent you some info, I ran Trunk88 today for a while, I also sent you the log file this time. I noticed on the screen of the scanner TR is coming up as S12 I guess that's the site name?

I don't run the program as much as you guys, so I'm really in the back seat when it comes to what's going on with the system. When I worked for the GSP I would have all the info I needed on the system, I could make some calls but I haven't talked to the guys for a while. Plus a few of the radio techs I worked with retired.

Thanks, Steve, I'm looking at your files now.

Yep, S12 would indicate Site 12 (or really Zone 12), i.e. the Central Simulcast.

I know most of you run UniTrunker, I really like Trunk88, the colors may look dull, but that's because it was saved using Paint, they look better on the computer screen. And the screen is very active while it runs. You can change the colors to the way you like it. Nice program....

I've added B11E-052 to the system.

What's interesting to me is that 041 and 052, both Central IR's, are using 859.7125, which is one of the control channels for the Central simulcast. That seems odd to me, I'm not sure why they would do that.
