System ID: 39A

WACN: BEE00

NAC: 394

Site: 104

Ch# 01-1970 774.31875 Control Channel
Ch# 01-1850 773.56875
Ch# 01-1306 770.16875
Ch# 01-1266 769.91875
Ch# 01-1230 769.69375

This site is currently in "Site Trunking" mode and it appears to be a Project-25 X2-TDMA system. On 07/30/2011 @ 00:00 hours it has a really strong signal in Cherry Hill Township near Evesham Road & Kresson Road (Camden County).

Update: At 00:31 hours the system CWID was sent on Ch# 01-1266 769.91875 with the text "CHANGEME"...

Scott mentioned there is a 700 MHz statewide system brewing. Perhaps this is the first sign of life of such system.

Yes, it can be monitored via the PSR-800. I don't think this one is part of the new state system build-out for 700MHz.

Given the fact that the callsign isn't programmed properly and other various issues with this system; it appears more likely to be the work of the folks in Camden County since they've just done a host of tower work at the Blackwood site located off Route 42 at the Camden County College campus. They've moved the 146.895 (192.8/NAC293) amateur repeater there as well last week.

When the Motorola guys for the state implement things, they usually follow the FCC guidelines, programming the callsign and having a filed license application for these frequencies would happen well before the tower actually went live. I found no such applications on file with the FCC for ANY of this sites frequencies.

We'll wait and see over the next few days as I have the tracker on it sucking down data.

BTW it should be noted that all five of those frequencies are state licenses allocated to NYS.

I had been picking up that control channel for 2 - 3 weeks--didn't think anything of it as I had seen the BEE00 before. Also, picked up the same identifier (BEE00) on 774.321875 (another site?).

If it means anything, just checked Camden County's trunked system. Control channel (854.3625) is also showing BEE00).

On a related topic. I tried to post an article from the latest Voorhees Sun, but couldn't find it (link). It appears that several Chiefs are moving away from going to the county system.

The WACN by itself means nothing, it must be paired up with the SysID to uniquely ID a system. The SysID by itself is unique to each system, however.

That's some signal on 700 to get to Cherry Hill from somewhere in NY.

Except that "somewhere in NY" in this case just happens to be the top of the Empire State Building. Funny what having an antenna at 1,200' will do for propagation. ;)

7/31 12:00PM - No control channel heard anywhere from 770-780 MHz here in NYC.

I agree, this is NOT the NYPD system as I can hear this full scale in my concrete basement with no antenna attached. That would be miracle propagation out of the city. 700/800 does not share the same propagation effects of 154 & 470 mhz; at least not here in Southern New Jersey.

This is definitely a system that is on the air locally (Camden County or Southern Burlington County)

I'll keep tracking this system and see what pops up and update as I find new information.

And for the fellow that did the search via system id; yes I knew you could do that and I did; however these are not the same frequencies associated with the NYPD system in Manhattan and I seriously doubt that the NYPD assigned Motorola technicians and engineers would have put this system on the air without a licensed callsign attached or having a pending application on file with the FCC. In addition, for us to hear that down here with its current signal strength; they'd have to be pumping out some serious wattage from that 700mhz transmitter, so it's VERY unlikely that this is out of New York City or New York State. Also, this is an X2-TDMA Project-25 system and as last update, NYC is a standard Phase I Project-25 system; but likely that will be changed as well.

Anyway, thank you all for the comments; I'd just thought I'd share my search information and we'll see what happens over the next few weeks. I have it monitored 24x7 on a dedicated receiver along with the Camden County X2-TDMA system for comparison of data. More to follow in future posts...

Also Camden County EMS E-7 151.865 (PL 192.8) is now on that site,

Thanks for all the information on this. Quick question? Does the PSR scanners spit out all this information or is it unitrunker or something else?

PSR-800 does not give you WACN, SYS ID, NAC and control channels used.
PSR-500 gives you WACN, SYS ID, NAC, site alias (if any).

Pro96Com will give you all the information that W2GLD posted, plus a lot more. You need PSR-500 to run Pro96Com

Unitrunker will also give you the information, unlike Pro96Com, the bandplan is a little tricky to decode.

I have a PRO-106 and have yet to program this system. When the thread was started, I quickly programmed it (old CC) into my 396T as a Mot/P25 system.

Today, seeing your post, I changed the CC to the new one, and after reading further, attempted to change (enter) the band plan information. What you have listed as Plan 01, was already entered as Plan 0. Likewise, your Plan 02 was entered as Plan 1 (only frequency and step; no hi/lo).

Guessing that I would have to re-enter the system as a custom system, it occurred to me IIRC, that custom plans are limited to Motorola systems, not P25.

So, I'm hoping that you (anyone) can comment as to how this system should be entered in a 396T and a PRO-106.

Thanks.

Do you know if the new GRE 410 will be capable of picking up the new camden county radio system you mentioned ?

No this would not be possible just using the scanner, the new Camden County system will be a Project-25 Phase II X2-TDMA system that will be 100% digital; the GRE PSR-410 is an analog ONLY scanner.
