I live in Hudson County and seem to get limited traffic on NCIS West Orange Simulcast. In fact I feel like I only hear Newark Fire occassionaly. I think I need to work on adjusting my P25 threshhold but with minimal transmissions it's going to be difficult to find the right time.

Anyone have any specific suggestions on what to monitor in the north end of the state on NJICS?

Also, I think I set the NJSP to avoid as I also have the 800mhz system programmed into my scanner. Are these mutually exclusive? Or are they being "simulcast" (maybe wrong word for this) on both systems?

I should probably also mention that most of my listening is done on weeknights around 10pm or later so not sure if the amount of traffic is impacted by that time.

There is a FD doing testing on the Union Co site now. TG 4249 being called Fire Dispatch and 4251 being called Fireground 1. They keep referring to 5700 and Deputy 5. The 2 IDs I caught are 2004653 and 2004654. Based on these IDs I am guess it is Elizabeth FD.

Logged ID: 114 on TG: 1037 at 10:02 showing data transmissions on Bordentown and ID: 13 is still up on UASI Region 1 (TG: 4169) but no use.

Update: Just saw that 1037 was actually US Marshals.. showing a couple USM radios using that TG also.

The USM guys were doing radio tests from different correctional facilities all morning. Maybe they are going to expand their use of the system.

While on the subject, this is what I have figured out so far. These talkgroups appear to be used to transport prisoners from different correctional facilities to the federal courthouses. I think the name CHART stands for something like "courthouse area transport"

Correct. 5700 is a Union County Communications ID. Linden begins testing in May.

You guys feel confident enough to have me add those two talkgroups to the DB in the morning?

Default New Jersey Interoperability Communication System (NJICS)

I am confident as to what they were calling the talkgroups, not 100% on the department. Like I said, the UIDs look look like Elizabeth, but it was never said. The were doing testing from "the mall" so I am guessing Jersey Gardens. If someone else can verify for certain EFD is going to the system, than it was them. I also heard the same radios on 4255 and 4257 but they never said the channel names.

I'm confident that I know Elizabeth Fire was supposed to be testing that day, and which Chief was involved. That combined with the RID's...I say go for it. If we're wrong we can always update. I'll post an update on Linden as soon as I can dig deeper.

Picked up new TGs here on the Bordentown site,4261 and 4263. Radio IDs 500015 and 500020 affiliated to 4263 and are now being denied.

I live in South Jersey, Lindenwold area. From what i have read here and in another thread written by W2GLD monitoring the NJICS system would not add any thing from what I now monitor by monitoring the NJSP on their "conventional" 800 MHz Motorola system. Is this a correct assumption?

Most of the time this is true. However, during a winter weather event, the Seasonal Maintenance talkgroups come alive with NJDOT and contractor plows and salt trucks. I dont believe we could ever hear these on the 800 system.

I did here the snow plow operations on the 800 MHz system. I think it was just the ACE and rt 42. They were on the "ACY Patrol 1" and "2" talk groups. I really don't want to listen to these services but I want to monitor operations at ACY airport since I work there and we have been having problems with the Technical Center's LMR radio system with interference.

Did NJSP Turnpike Central (TGID 3329) switch to NJICS? or am I just hearing a patch?

That's just a patch.

From what I can see on Pro96Com Elizabeth radio 2004346 has been affiliated to 3329 lately so that's most likely why it's been active.

Sometimes I hear strange PSE&G patches as well. What I mean is they sound more like police and not electricians wiring or doing work.

Fuzy_GSXR1000,

Can you please clarify...are you saying you are hearing PSE&G on the NJICS system? if so what site/ID's etc...?
OR
Are you saying you are hearing law enforcement on the PSE&G 900 system (different from the NJICS system/thread)? (is that is the case...YES William Paterson Univ/PD do use their system).
