I've seen the system referred to by a few different names, even on official documents.

Let's not jump the gun just yet on renaming the system in the DB, there are some things to take into account before changing the name of trunked systems, otherwise links get broken, etc.

Not jumping any guns, or saying change anything. Just stating an observation based on radio transmissions, new documents (now in agreement), and a conversation with a REMU brass.

No it's fine, if the system now officially has a name, then we'll change the database. I was just speaking in general terms that there are two or three things we need to take care of when making any name changes to trunked systems in the RRDB, that's all.

On this page, they refer to the system as the New Jersey Interoperability Communications System (NJICS), so we've already got a slight conflict.

Public Safety Communications - Interoperability

Interoperable or Interoperability?

I believe it's the latter - using the first in the way that would be named is not proper English...

I don't think that website has been updated since 2007

I been seeing a lot more traffic on it lately.. I was hoping to get NJSP on it because I can not pick up the 800mhz system in Tuckerton, but I haven't heard any NJSP traffic on it. Mostly DOT traffic.

You need a GRE PSR-800 scanner to listen to the Phase II talkgroups.

Is there a livefeed of this system?

Mike

I just programmed the Union control channels with a wildcard group into my Pro-106 and hear nothing so far. All all the talkgroups on this system Phase II?

We haven't had any Union County specific talkgroups submitted yet, nor do I recall seeing any mention of them in this thread. My assumption is that they would be TDMA, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.

You might want to connect the PRO-106 to Unitrunker or Pro96Com and let it run for a few hours during the day, see if you get any hits.

If I had to guess, I would say these are future NJSP radios. There are active NJSP ID's from the 143xx range, then there is a gap of radio ID's and they pick up again at 148xx.

Future NJSP radios? I thought the NJSP were going to stay on the 800 Mhz analog system.

The radios will have cross - compatability access to both systems, and the current Type-II systems are slated in the near future to become a Phase-I P25 system.

On a document I viewed today in relation to Newark Fire's having joining the system, REMU referred to it as the NJICS, New Jersey Interoperability Communication System. So, looking up for that.

As for Union County...no talkgroups have been submitted, cause none have been confirmed. As of right now, the swap is indefinitely on hold for political reasons.

Question

Can anyone with PSR-800 confirm if TG 4097 is a State Park Police channel? I see a Park Police radio affiliated on 4097 on site 003 and it was active today at 12:10.

I haven't heard any transmissions for a few days or I should say nights lately. All I did to the PSR-800 is library updates. Is anything wrong or is this just me?!
