Default East Brunswick TRS - Open Carrier?

Just beginning this evening, I've been picking up an occasional open carrier on the East Brunswick System on TG 17680. This TG is not listed in the database, is this occurring for anybody else?

Rather then start a new thread:

I've been having some problems picking up East Brunswick recently, and even more so today then usual. Not sure what the problem is, but sometimes while listening to the EB TRS, one half of a conversation will come in pretty clear, then the other half will come in very scratchy (almost unreadable, and sometimes after that the first half will then also be scratchy). Other times, I will receive the entire conversation but it is all almost unreadable. In addition, right now I am picking up a CC for the Old Bridge TRS (which is usually just out of range), but am having a VERY hard time picking up a CC for the EB TRS (which doesn't seem to make much sense, since East Brunswick is between Highland Park and Old Bridge, though I know EB is UHF and OB is 800 MHz).

Also, not that this at all matters, but I noticed that the NOAA radio station on 162.450 from Howell is not coming in at all, while normally it is booming. I monitor with a Pro-95 and an indoor mounted J-Pole. Could this just be related to atmospheric conditions? Any help is appreciated and sorry for the rambling...

They symtoms you describe are interesting. I suggest that you borrow a scanner (not another PRO-95) from a fellow monitor and connect that to your J-Pole to see if reception improves. Most PRO-95s that I've come into contact with lately have begun, due to age, to decay to the point that they are useless...won't trunktrack correctly (esp. EDACS), memory blanks out completely, you name it. They weren't made well to begin with, can't be rebanded, and - IIRC - aren't narrowband compliant. I suspect it's time for a new scanner.
