A Thank You to Volunteers
You know, I just happen to be listening to the scanner tonight (like usual)
and heard the fire in Roselle on the 1200 block of Creasent Ave. at about 12:30am. They got the 1st divison knocked down for now and working on the 2nd. But that is not what I am typing about. It's the Volunteer Dept that are responding. Yes the had Cranford, Linden and Elizabeth respond to the scean as URGENT request, but they had Kenilworth, Roselle Park and Garwood respond to fire house coverage. Yes I know that is the norm,
but something hit me tonight as I hear the Vol. dept responding, and it was a quick response. It's just that they usually always respond very quickly, and don't even get paid for it. But I also thought they don't get praised or thanked a lot. I'm not a vol. and frankly too old now, but these guys, Clark too and ALL Union County Vol. FD's should get a high five. They do what they can on their own time at no pay. Sometimes they can't, but I am sure it's not because they say, 'ay I can't be bothered' it
most likely is the just Can't or lose their job, that type of thing.
I just thought once in awhile we should just stop and say Thank You to them all.
PS: I'm not just saying this because one of my houses are in Roselle, I have been thinking this for months, but just thought of putting this out tonight.
HIGH "5" TO ALL THE VOLUNTEERS INCLUDING EMS IN UNION COUNTY!!!
