does anyone have the talkgroup information for the fire mutual aid channel? This isn't listed in the database and is a talkgroup that non-users use to call into the fire / ems dispatchers when going out of their town and or into a users territory.

Default Pro96 Programming

I hope that I might get help programming my Pro-96.

I used the Win96 program to grab the frequencies etc. from the
database and then uploaded everything to the scanner. But the
scanner receives no transmissions. It's otherwise in perfect
functioning condition.

Is there some button to be pushed or box to be checked on
the programming software to enable reception. Or should I
just abandon the scanner and work on programming my
newly acquired Pro-106? Thanks.

I've noticed on several occasions that Morristown Municipal Airport uses Operations 2 by default. It seems that they have that talkgroup dedicated to themselves. Just an observation.

Probably the reason is it is impossible to retrain all of the first responders on proper use of a channel selector.

Anyone have any knowledge of who is using TG 800? I'm assuming it's county Law Enforcement as opposed to Municipal based on TG #. Heard units identifying themselves as "EC1", "EC2" earlier today.

That's the former CG-Com channel, now labeled COMM CENTER used for County non law enforcement agencies ie: Hazmat, Roads and Bridges, Park Maintenance etc to contact the Comm Center.

EC1 is the Hazmat Supervisor, the other environmental investigators and hazmat techs are EC2, EC3 etc. Their apparatus are Hazmat-1 and Hazmat-2.

Anybody hearing the automated voice announcement on any of the police channels? Sometimes i hear an automated voice start talking and im pretty sure it announces the time. I want to say on the hour it happens. Its just very annoying and i was wondering what it could be.

Are you sure you are not hearing background sounds from the dispatcher? For example, the Police 1 dispatcher's phone says "Police 1" when it rings. CAD has a message "You have a new call".

When a P.O. is on a MV stop, the siren tells the Dispatcher that a certain amount of time elapsed and the Dispatcher will call the Officer and check on them.
