In addition to what is in the database now. There will also be 25 operations channels, a fire mutual aid channel and several other talk groups "channels"

I also hear 91 units on TGID 263 - I assume that's CGLE COMM-2?

263 has been very active.

The only Operations TG I've had total confirmation of, after hearing them say "You're on Ops 10", is 1808. I've gotten a few hits on some others, but all of them have popped up in Unitrunker with at least 1 hit. Given the numbering scheme in HEX, I'm 99.9% certain that list I posted is correct.

Sounds like the FD Resp talkgroups are beginning to be migrated over. Hearing activity on FD RESP 5 this morning.

Also heard Sheriif on talkgroup 809 calling out at Post 1. Not sure if this is the same as COMM2 (263) or a seperate TG.

1808 is OPS-10. Still using it for St. Patrick's Day activities down in Morristown.

Apparently the entire system failed last night at 2300 until 0600 this morning.

Says who? I have Unitrunker logging this system and saw nothing unusual overnight, same level of activity there normally is.

No. The system did not fail for 7 hours.

They were getting interference from an external source. The coverage was impaired at times but the entire system did NOT fail for 7 hours.

Ocean County and Burlington County also were impacted as well.

Well we were on UTAC 46 for the night since all of our radios turned red and displayed "Failure", but you can call it what you like.

It is failsoft, not failure. It was caused by external interference. And it was NOT in failsoft for 7 hours straight.

Still unacceptable performance of these new systems. As with everything in the emergency field it’s all about money and short on safety. With the analog you may have had interference but no to the point where your radio didn’t work. During the hurricane our radio would not work at all on any channel UHF or digital if the radio could not reach the system. Towns have had their systems up for years with minor maintenance and cost. Now with the digital every 5 years or less something new comes around and millions have to be spent to keep it running between software, hardware and new radio upgrades

You guys are missing the point. The system is fine.

When a DTV station signal is -65 dBm on the receiver input I guarantee even analog systems will NOT receive portables. It is NOT about digital vs analog but rather the case of interference causing a severe reduction in coverage.

Most of the time the TV stations can co-exist with public safety as the geographical distance will be enough to not cause problems. But when conditions are right you can have severe interference. This is nothing new. Ocean COunty has been fighting this with their analog system for 10 years!

Remember low band systems where you couldn't talk 1 mile on a portable but could talk 1000 miles?
