They are using a UHF LTR system, so make sure you have your scanner programmed accordingly. The system doesn't put out much power, but I hear them fine over by EWR.

WPUD811 PNCT/LTR

If you download direct from RadioReference, look under Essex County.

For some reason, that system is not in the Sentinel/HP-1 database. Probably because none of the talkgroup ID's are valid. Sentinel/HP-1 is very picky when it comes to what trunked systems are included in the database. Trunked systems with no talkgroups listed, or with invalid talkgroup ID's, are rejected during the import from RR.

Specifically, the 00 is not valid in the format x-00-xxx. That needs to be a number between 01 and 19 to indicate which repeater/LCN the talkgroup is homed to.

I'm going to submit corrections for the talkgroups based on what I'm seeing listed as the home repeaters, but someone really ought to verify the changes once they are made.

Hopefully one of the admins will make the changes tonight or tomorrow morning so it'll make it in time for Monday's HP-1 update.

Also keep in mind Port Newark Container Terminal (PNCT) is one of many terminals at Port Newark/Elizabeth. The other two main terminals are Maher and APM Terminals. Maher uses Nextel. APM uses UHF as follows which needs input in the DB as well:

1 APM MARINE R 451.4625 AU CTCSS 225.7
2 APM ARENA 468.5125 AU CTCSS 225.7
3 APM PORT NET 456.5875 AU DCS 731
4 APM HAZMAT 1 457.7125 AU DCS 125
5 APM HAZMAT 2 456.2875 AU CTCSS 141.3
6 APM CHARLEY R 452.3875 AU DCS 624
7 APM SAFETY 456.8875 AU DCS 131
8 APM FACILITY R 452.7625 AU DCS 271
9 APM BLUE R 451.9625 AU DCS 664
10 APM POWER R 452.6625 AU DCS 516
11 APM RTGMECH R 464.9625 AU DCS 731
12 APM REEFER 457.6625 AU DCS 712
13 APM CHASSIS R 461.2125 AU DCS 503
14 APM YARD R 461.4625 AU DCS 365
15 APM RAIL R 462.0375 AU DCS 143
16 APM SECURTY R 461.7625 AU DCS 503

Yup, that matches up with what I submitted.

I have no idea why they were all entered with 00 as the Home LCN, and yet had the Home LCN noted in the description or subcategory notes. That makes absolutely no sense.

I only submitted the changes to the TGID's, not the frequencies, so it should be good once the corrections are made.

It's nice that maalox decided to listen to the system, and pointed out it wasn't in the HP-1 database. Makes me wonder how many other systems are in the RRDB with obvious errors like that?

I think the license only lists it at 2 watts ERP ! I hear it good around the Port and over by EWR...I never really tried to listen from distances, but I'll see what kind of reception I get when I go back into work on Monday.
