According to an article posted on cliffviewpilot.com, the PIP Police have moved to the NJSP 700 MHz system.

That site works terribly in IE by the way. Something about how the ads are served seems to lock up the browser (in my 64-bit IE9 at least), so you might want to use Firefox or Chrome to view that link.

Pro96Com is showing that they also are able to use encryption on the TG.

Arrow Got it

Thanks guys, Got it into the database.
Please continue to monitor (I don't have a PSR800) to see if the PIP is using additional TGs, especially for Roads and Maint.

Also a good idea to make DB submission to get credit.

Thanks

Works fine on Chrome; no problems whatsoever.

Sometimes up to 5 cars working including detective units you see frequently in unmarked cars stopping people. i helped fund their new radios with 2 speeding tickets in the last couple years on the palisades!!

I still heard maintenance on 156.105 this week.

They're on site 101 (I can't listen with GRE-500, but they show up in Pro96Com).

I believe the way the system is being configured, TG's will be site specific. Since PIP only needs coverage in NW bergen county than only those sites are used. If they need coverage somewhere else they will use a TG with a larger footprint.

That's correct. The P25 system is not simulcast like the Motorola system is. Each site is zone. There may be certain talkgroups that are simulcast either full-time or part-time across multiple or all sites, but that's not indicative of the entire system being a single zone simulcast.

Makes sense - the Maryland System is like that also -- if your radio locks onto a specific (closest) site, you may not hear as much. If all active users are within one site, adjacent sites may not carry the same traffic. If a user in a site on the other side of the state tunes their radio to a TG that is typically only active on the other side of the state, you might briefly hear activity on that site and then it could just go away. Could easily make you think there is something wrong with your radio -- but it's not your radio.....

Best to configure each site as a separate system

Geez - they really had to use "cloud" in their description of the system? That's a new one....
