I like the quote at the end: "and the county system in particular would not be able to handle an additional 1,500 radios."

Not sure how a virtually unused system couldn't handle that but ok.

The Mercer County system is getting new sites and receivers over the summer and I think you will see more usage once the coverage is improved.

It'll be interesting to see what flavor of a system they choose. With Kenwood as the vendor they could go with either analog of NXDN modulation. They could also go with conventional repeaters or a trunked system. I think it's smart that they are going with Kenwood. I have used their products for years and have no complaints. And they are certainly less expensive than the big /\/\
