Jersey City EMS, the city that Somerset County loves to hate. In somerset county, we have nothing but transmission problems because Jersey City has an overpowered repeater. We use the same frequency to dispatch and coordinate squads here. Half the time the dispatcher can't hear you, other times the pager won't go off. Somerset used 155.235 in simplex while Jersey City uses theirs in Repeater Mode. The county filed many complaints with the FCC about the problem, and nothing still has been done. Finally, with the new radio system coming into place, they also licensed a few conventional UHF frequencies, so over a year or two, there may be a move to those frequencies to avoid the Jersey City problem.
