Radio battery might be dying - beep every 30 seconds.

Wasn't listening at that time, but the feed has had no problems whatsoever the past week plus, at least whenever I was listening.

Police won't always make a radio comm when dispatched to an event. They could be dispatched through MDT, or if an officer is in the station at the time of the call they will simply respond from there. (at least this is how things seem to have worked in Highland Park for years)

Hi guys:

Bob is currently having a bit of trouble with the radio that he was using for the feed. He has a few other projects that he has to get accomplished before getting back to the feed. Hopefully, this will be finished within two weeks from what I was told.

I also just noticed this. Is this something standard that happens after a feed has been offline for a given amount of time?

While I do not want to give the impression of rushing you at all, I also hope the feed makes its return whenever possible.

Any possibility of an update on the current situation? I hope all is well Mr. Pearsall, and greatly appreciate your work at providing this service.

Exclamation Milltown/Highland Park Feed

Hi Guys:

I just talked with Bob and he told me that their is a new radio in the works for the feed - please be patient, he has a lot going on at the moment. But he has not forgotten about the feed, and hopes to have it going sometime with the next two weeks. We are both working on logistical issues that occurred with the set up of the old feed. Again, please be patient - a lot of personal money has been invested in this for your benefit.

No complaints here, and patience is something I can spare in buckets - especially when it comes to the gracious generosity that both you and Mr. Pearsall have demonstrated. I hope all is well for both of you guys, and look forward to the feeds eventual return, whenever that may be.

Great to see the feed back up. Just turned it on, will report how it sounds on my end once I hear some traffic.

Is it still streaming all of the same talkgroups that it was prior to it being taken down?

EDIT: I've been listening for a little while now, and have heard a few comms from both towns. I noticed the same thing as lovescanner: at the end of each transmission there is a buzzing noise for a few seconds before it fades out. Also, one Milltown PD unit was loud and clear while the volume on a different unit was a bit low. Volume on HP was also a bit on the low side. Nothing unbearable though - just quick observations. I'm just happy to be listening again

Bob and I worked for four hours last night troubleshooting different methods for re-activating the feed and the only way [for now] to eliminate the hissing and static after the transmission stops would be to have it run on a battery. But then that would require the battery be changed out every 10-12 hours, and if he forgets to do that, then the feed would be dead until the battery got changed (and also hared to do since their is only one battery to work with at the moment). So it was decided to leave the radio in the charger until a battery eliminator is either used or another method is chosen that works.
