sorry guys....

Did some searching and closer looking

WQAG350 is the same license that the police LB tac(45.56) is on...

I'm assuming they have UHF radios in the cars. The antennas on top, plus interops with surrounding towns would make sense.

Now that I know it is on the PD License, I have more confidence in thinking its PD related, and not DPW related.

All to report for now. I will keep listening.

Their cars and portables are UHF. They have several crossband pairs to 45.9800. Longtime ago someone said Oakland DPW was using Nextels. Obviously. now Nextel is gone. DPW Ops would sensibly be on 46.5600 156.7 most likely as that is used for FD/EMS paging. They do not use the VHF freq for anything other than Fireground and OEM. Last time I saw an Oakland DPW vehicle it had a VHF Low ball mount and whip. Those UHF freqs are not going to be used as PD is supposedly going to NJICS.

What is most amazing is anyone using low band in this day and age.

Glad to see you guys out hunting but don't rely on FCC licenses as the final answer.

Who still makes Low Band stuff?

I'm not sure of who manufactures their equipment but there is a small law enforcement agency out west known as the California Highway Patrol using low band as the main dispatch frequencies (although they also make major use of higher frequencies for extenders and such)

Kenwood, even though the 6110 is almost out of production. There was rumors they may make a lowband NX5000 since the TK690 will be gone also.
