Question Berkeley Township Police

I have a friend looking to purchase a scanner to monitor the police where he resides.

He lives in Bayville. Does anybody know what kind of radio system Berkeley Township PD operates so I can tell him what kind of scanner he needs to purchase? Are they digital?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I would say the digital is a safe bet. Like Elias said, the digital is coming, it was supposed to be here by August. They have begun testing the 2 new digital frequencies (see the link he provided for all BTPD channels). He might want to wait and see if they are going to totally encrypt, which would be a waste of money. Once the switchover happens, all of us here with digital scanner who live in earshot will post if they go full enc. As of right now, it is just testing on the new P25 system.
