Getting ready to purchase it. Anyone have the software that would like to shed some lite or concerns? I herd some bad things about it.

If you're planning on using it for a radio that there all no other alternatives for (IE: Pro-94, Pro-2054...), sure.

If there are alternatives, I would seriously consider using them.

What scanner will you be programming?
I'd avoid ScanCat Lite/Plus/etc at all costs.

I have 2 Pro 96's. Any ideas on what kind of software to get?

Starrsoft's Win96 is widely regarded as the best for the Pro-96. But don't take my word for it, take advantage of its full-function 30-day free trial.

A word of caution -- Don Starr seems a bit backlogged when it comes to manually issuing authorization codes. This is only an issue if you're paying by check or money order or something like that. As long as you go through his online payment service (Paypal, I believe) then the authorization code is automated and should be e-mailed to you quickly.
