Default Live broadcast

I have my live broadcast back up and running. It should be up the majority of the time, however for the next few days I will be working out some kinks so it could be up and down. For one, When the radio is charging, there is a hum after every transmission....I have no idea why, never noticed that before.

Anyway, just wanted to let everyone know its back up and should stay that way!

Kevin

Nice feed. It's not very often you get to monitor a ProVoice system via the web

For now, the feed will be down again. I need to find the source of the background noise before I let the feed run continuously. I think the answer lies in the sound card...same issue I had with my last setup. Thanks for being so patient.

Kevin

PS -- If anyone has any other ideas, let me know...the sound through the "line in" is terrible, there is background noise after every transmission. Though the microphone jack is better, it "crackles" from time to time and I am going to need to use the mic for other things as well. I did try two different cables, same issue with both.

Have you tried a attenuation cable? I know the audio signal that comes out of my EDACS radio is pretty hot!

Until I come across an attenuation cable, I have made some modifications to my setup and it sounds pretty good so far. Can someone listen in and let me know how it sounds?

Thanks,
Kevin

The audio still sounds a little hot, just a little. I get a 60 cycle hum every once and a while as well.

Yea, it still hums, but its definitely better than it was. Any idea where I can get a cheap attenuation cable? I think its just the sound card, but if the cable helps its probably cheaper than buying another card.

I've listened to this feed for a few days and did not pick up a hum or any other problems on it.

How did you manage to track a Pro-Voice system?

A suggestion, why don't you put this feed on Scan America, which RR now owns and is very convenient to use. The way RR has it set up it is quite easy and simple to locate feeds.

OK, thanks for the help so far. I have started using the attenuating cable...sounds good to me. Let me know what you think.

Thanks again,
Kevin

I'd just like to thank you for your effort in making the ABQ feed available. I've had it bookmarked for over a year and I've enjoyed it numerous times, when I've been in the mood for it.

Regards,

The low audio issue with the feed should be resolved this weekend. The problem appears to be with the patch cable. Once unplugged and allowed to cool down, it works fine for a day or two. I will replace it and that should resolve the issue once and for all.

Thank you for the broadcast and info. I moved here from Colorado and I started listening about a month ago. I have a Uniden BCT8 and I can only listen to dispatch. What kind of radio are you using if you don't mind me asking?
Thanks once again.
Chris

It's a LPE-200 Scan Model. I purchased it on Ebay five or so years ago.

The feed will be down until further notice. I believe the recent low audio issues were ultimately followed by the speaker mic completely dying last night. Until I can replace the speaker mic, I may stream the audio from the analog dispatch frequencies....

I hope the Albuquerque feed will return soon, it is of great interest to me being that it is the only
way to hear APD, so nice to know what is going on around you when you work a security post, and I know about four others that enjoy it also, please let us know how things are going and
thank you for your trouble.
