Default Army Va Chinooks Training in NM

On a whim decided to go out to Double Eagle II airport around Noon today. Two Chinook helicopters were on the ground with crews unpacking. As we watched two more Chinooks flew in and landed. We managed to get in one of the Helicopters and I took a pic of the Have Quick card.

These folks are in from Virgina to do some "sand" training in preparation for a deployment to Iraq. They said they would be here four days, so you may want to put the Air - Air frequencies in and have a listen.

They have a site west of DE airport that one Chinook lands and kicks up dust. The other Chinooks then have to do touch and go's in the dust field.....

Duh, should have figured that one out on my own.

Have heard them using the callsign of Train on 255.7 and 38.7.

Also have heard the German's at HAFB being very active on 311.5.
