Default 400 trunk system Las Cruces

I am working in LC this weekend, and I decided to listen to White SANDS. All is quiet. I checked the control channels and heard nothing. I searched, and found 2 control channels. 409.3625, and 408.5875. I entered these freq's and I get freq's amd talk groups, but no audio. I am set up base 406.000,spacing 12.5 and offset 380. The scanner is set to table. still no audio these freqs are not listed in the data section. any one know whats up.

Dan,

You are not the first to have had problems with the Whitesands system recently. abqscan had problems with it last month as well.

I don't know if he figured out the problem, but he may be able to add some insight that I don't have here.

Your offset and base seem to be good, you may want to play with the base frequency, setting it to the lowest value you find in your search or with the frequencies shown when the CC sets a talk channel.

If you do start getting things and it seems to be continuous, submit a change to the DB.

Default interesting

I have been wondering if they changed the base freq. If I have time I will play with it.

I am planing a trip down there in Feb, with a bunch of computers to figure out the new system down south. There is at least 6 sites on this system. If someone else down there can run trunker and figure out what freqs belong to what site it would be a great help. you need at least 2 trunkers working to determine what freqs belong to what site.

abqscan,

I live in Silver City, and work LC one 48 hour shift a month. I will go back in Jan. I will take a couple of digital scanners and see if I can find out what is happening. I just know there are new control channels, and I wonder about the base freq.

These are the CC's I heard while I was in LC.

408.1000 System: A517
408.5875 System: 6C30
409.3625 System: 6C30

The 6C30 is part of the wide area system that WSMR and HAFB uses.

Unhappy Las Cruces 400

I have My PRO-96 here this weekend.I believe WSMR is Both encripted and some non-encripted. The scanner is showing talk groups and voice freq.s, but i haven't heard much. I did hear one broadcast in the open. I believe the scanner is working correctly. the 396T doesn't even show that any communication is going on. I believe that this is due to encriped radio traffic.

It was fun listening to them. I will miss it.
