Good day. I just got back from 6 weeks in the Fort Bliss/WSMR area (mostly at the Dona Ana base camp). I monitored the 6C30 system with a pro 96. I forgot the different control ch freqs but using a base freq of 406.1125, offset 380 and 12.5 KHz spacing I copied the system very well. I'm not sure that's what you were talking about but there's the info in case anybody needs to know.

Thanks, I'll give it a try... but not in the next few days. BTW, are they still using a mix of analog and P25 voice?

ABQSCAN: Cruces - Feb - WSMR?
I heard a 60/40 mix of analog/digital. Logged about 50 TGs.

Would be nice if you could post/revise/update the Dona Ana frequencies database, along with the talkgroups. Thanks

Here are the TGs I logged. I only text tagged the ones I really knew for sure what they were. I had the advantage of being issued an XTS 5000 for the duration of my time there. I'm a Canadian Army Comms Technician and the units I've listed are from Petawawa Ontario.

Rob, thanks for the TG's. What control frequencies you were using?

I wish I'd kept better notes. 409.1125 MHz was the CC in DA (I think). It was probably different while I was on Fort Bliss proper working at the railhead. I'm pretty much a CC only kind of guy (esp with the Pro 96). I know you can get burned sometimes with this (like the El Paso 3802 sys when they rotate CCs) . Of minor note when I was there, it was around 25 Feb when the 6C30 reverted to site trunking for about 30 hrs due to what I learned later was a fiber optics gettting cut.

You know what? Today, I used the two control frequencies ABQSCAN posted a while back for the 6C30 system (409.3625 and 408.5875) and also the base frequency of 406.1125 that you gave in your first post in this thread. I put these numbers in my BCD396T (in control channel only mode) and got both analog and digital voice conversations. Thank you, Rob and Erik. I will use the old set of talkgroups I used in my analog voice PRO97. They are:
Master Control 10128
Fire/EMS 12336
MP Central 12416
WS Range Rider 14768
WS Rough Rider 12768
Range Safety 12992
Range Control1 12688
Range Control2 12288
Range Control 3 12784
Range User1 13328
Range User2 10160
Range User3 13344
Range User4 12864
Range User5 12784
Range User6 09296
Range User7 14784
Range User 8 12768
Range User 9 13776
PM Info 28/29 08656
The above TGs are for the analog transmissions I heard before (before WSMR changed base frequencies and control frequencies) in the PRO97.
The Range Users are projects and post customers like you folks Rob.
I can't see how you got the base frequency correctly from only the control channel and perhaps a few voice channels. How did you ever figure that one out? Great job.
Peter

After a base freq of 406 MHz didn't work, I just worked up from there in 12.5 KHz steps until the PRO 96 tracked the system properly. It was trial and error.

I am trying to get this to work from Alamogordo using 396T. I don't really understand the relationship between band plan and frequencies entered, I've tried several combos with no luck.
I hear two equally strong control channels, 407.075 and 408.0875. I put my radio in old fashioned CONVENTIONAL search mode, and quickly discovered a bunch of active freqs, which I assume go with these control channels (406. 1125, . 15, .3625, .5625, .7625, .775, .9625, 407.1625, .5625 (and I quit searching after these, I imagine there are more).
It did not seem to me that any of this matched the database data for sites. I put the cc's and the active freqs in the freguency bank, and put some of the base freq tries (406.0 406.1125) in the band plan set up, but I never got anything. I need to buy a vowel, I think I am just poking in the dark.

Hi,
I have a 396T also. Unlike the Radio Shack pro 95 and 97 (and I assume the 96), you have to specify CC only (control channel only) trunking with the Uniden.
Try that if you have not already...
I cant hear the two control channels from Las Cruces, but that does not mean that they are not there.
Hope that helps.
