Default Radio Shack Pro 2096

Hello i am new to this scanner i was wondering if someone could tell me if when programming frequencies
into this scanner what mode do i use ct,dc,mo,or fm ? The frequencies that i have been given to me or that i have picked up online i have no clue witch mode to use...

When programming conventional freqs ( example 460.300 police) you would use FM. You want to use their tone (ct or dc) if other departments share the same freq and you only want to hear that one police dept. You use MO or EDACS to program a trunking system and AM for aircraft.
