Default N00b question re bct15 programming

Ok, I've loaded my set of local frequencies, and pretty happy with the current programming.

When scanning, it appears that sometimes the scanner will land on a frequency that is programmed and will identify it according to the program, for example, it will display 155.XXXX - Tucson Police Department Sector XXX. Other times, it will land on this same frequency, and display some sort of generic identifier like Arizona - Public Safety. I assume that this is because the same frequency is found in both my custom programming, and in Uniden's Bear Tracker list, which is preloaded.

What I want is to force the scanner to display the correct ID data if it lands on a frequency that I've identified, and to display this sort of generic data only if I haven't programmed that frequency yet. How do I accomplish this?

Since it sounds like you want to also scan the preloaded stuff, your best bet is to lockout the individual frequencies (in the preloaded Uniden system) that correspond to the frequencies you have loaded yourself and tagged how you want them to display.

This is instead of turning off the Uniden preprogrammed systems.

It's a little early for me, so if this doesn't make sense, I'll try to clarify.

This is just what I would do. There might be other ways of getting the same result that I'm not thinking of.
