Brian,

I'm unsure just what your question is. You seem to already know that the city and county agencies have gone digital and that you need a digital scanner to listen to them. You indicate that you are looking for a Uniden 996XT. Are you just looking for recommendations for dealers that sell that scanner?

You've thrown in this string of terms "(MotorMotorola APCO 25 Digital, Motorola, EDACS, LTR", but I'm not sure why. From the database, it appears that the city and county agencies are on a P25 system. The state highway patrol is on a Motorola Type II system which appears to be primarily analog, but has digital capabilities when desired.

Perhaps if you clarified your question we could be more helpful.

Your present scanner should be able to handle both conventional and analog trunked systems, but will not handle digital systems. I see in the database that there are two Palmetto systems. You should probably ask in the SC forum to find out which agencies are using each system and what the plans are for switching to digital in the future. In the meanwhile, it appears that there should still be plenty to hear on your existing scanner although some agencies and, in some case, just some transmissions may be digital.
