Default New to all of this.

Hi I am new to these forums and wanted to introduce myself. I am located in Western Massachusetts (Berkshire County) and I just purchased my first scanner, GRE PSR-300. I would apprecaite any advice on learning about scanners.

Thanks,

I think the best thing to do is to read a lot, and a good place to start doing that is: Scanning 101 - The RadioReference Wiki

Be sure to click on the many links within that article.

Default Western Mass Scanner Group

You could also give this group a try. ScanWesternMass : Western Mass Area Radio Scanning

Here's a quote from their main page:
"This is a group of hobbyists who monitor radio transmissions (25 to 2000 mhz range)in Western Massachusetts (Counties: Berkshire, Hampden, Hampshire, Franklin, & Western Worcester). Also related topics may be discussed: FRS, CB, Amateur, Cellular/PCS Phones, GMRS, MURS other part 15 devices as it pertains to Western Mass area."

Hope this is useful to you.
