Default Newbie can't download to BCD996T

Just acquired BCD996T and purchased Radio Reference upgrade to install frequeuncies via Freescan and/or Butel;when I type my sign-in and password it won't open to find local frequencies for import;it is probably something simple---please send suggestions

If I read correctly, the OP's problem is betwen his PC and RRDB, not between his PC and the scanner. What he is trying to do can be done with no scanner cable connected...

What some are saying is that you may need to download the latest version of your software. The only reason I did not suggest that, is that when I first read your msg is that you seem to say you JUST got your scanner and software. However, if you got your software more than a month ago, you need to check to see if you have the very latest version. Otherwise, I guess firewall blocking might be suspected.

I'd double check that the user name and password are entered correctly in the appropriate places in FreeScan keeping in mind that they are case sensitive.
