Default PSR-300 Not receiving programming from ARC300

I've downloaded ARC300, I've downloaded the drivers for the USB, all connects, but frequencies are not sending to the scanner. It says on ARC300 that it is working, scanner says "Clone mode, wrong device" (I understand that the computer is not a PSR30), but after completion of sending the data, nothing is on the scanner. Similarly, when sending data from the scanner to the ARC program, it says it is "sending data", screen remains blank. Any ideas???

make sure that you have firmware 1.4 or latter marked the default is for firmware 1.3 or lower.
just move the mark to the right If the firmware is 1.4 or newer. Also Also make sure you use
PRE300/400 with out the "C". Not sure what else it could be.

First of all, welcome to RR.com, drclyburn.

Go into Device Manager on your computer and see which com port is assigned by your computer to the programming cable. Make sure the software is using the same port.

If that is not the problem, I would download WIN97 by Starrsoft and/or PSREdit300 to see if you continue to have problems. WIN97 and PSREdit300 both offer 30-day trial periods so you can choose the software that best suits you. It would at least give you an idea if it is the software or another problem.

Thanks to both of you for the responses (and the welcome). I have made sure through Device Manager that the COM port's match between the software and the device. I will try the other software and play with the options when trying to send the data. I hope something works. It's a gift for someone on Monday.

Thanks again!!
