V-Scanner
Can anybody tell me how to get out of the v-scanner lists and back to object oriented scanning on the PSR500? I'm stuck and can't find it in the manual or on Mark's page.
Thanks
Bob

Not sure of what you're trying to do. Are you using software? If not, Win500 is a must have for the PSR500.

Right now I seem to be scanning the v-scanner lists. I want to go back to the original scan lists I've programmed in. How can I go back?

Also I'm using ARC500. Win 500 didn't seem to work to well for me or I wasn't doing something right.

To change list: press Func-Pgm-Load, then arrow up or down, then Load, then yes, then scan.

That loads the v-scanner scan list. I'm trying to back out of the v-scanner. The v-scan list for TN is 12 and that is stored in the memory for back up. I don't want to stay in v-scanner.

As far as I know you are always scanning a V-Folder. Of course a folder can consist of many options. The online manual is pretty good. Also, this doesn't consider Search & Service Scan.

The V-Folders are seperate from what you actually program in. I've never used the V-Folders on my 500, and I don't have a computer with which to read the CD-based manual, so I don't know how to get out of them and back to regular programming. Sorry.

See if you can Google it. "Switching to and from V-folders in GRE PSR-500"

I tried to attach the ONLINE pdf manual but it must be too big.
Try Google looking for GRE PSR500 manual.

Yes, I am scanning the V-Scanner folders #12 to be exact and I want to go back to my regular programming. I can't find how to do this. The manual tells you how to go to the V-Scan folders but it doesn't tell you how to go back to the regular programming unless it's in another section. Mark's Scanners web page is the same way. I have both manuals in print.

If you have the original programming (you created) saved in ARC500 just upload it to the scanner and it will scan that.

Try Func. , Prog. , then F3. This should erase the V folder. You'll have to reinstall it from the Cd if you want to monitor it again later.

If you created a file with ARC500 and uploaded it to your scanner and didn't save it in V-Folder 00: and then load V-Folder 12 it over-writes your programming and your original programming will be lost. You'll have to load it back using ARC500 to get it back (save it to 00: using Func, Program), then if you want to switch say from your original programming to a V-Folder 12 you can, then go back to 00: using the Func, Program again.

Note post # 7. You just want to go to another V-Folder which may or may not exist.

"Highpockets" is correct, "00" is what they used to call the "Work Pad" on the PRO96/2096...The other V-Folders are asst folders u can erase and tailor to ur liking or load and keep...When u load a VF its a good idea to "label" the "Title' of the folder with the proper # or u can get screwed up ex: VFolder 1-Local Area....PS: I hope "Highpockets is "OK" as i saw folks in "Toms River" in bad shape from the "Big Storm"....

Looks like the main memory is also listed in the VScanner list, and yes it doesn't say how to do it in the manual.
But here is how I did it:
Press FUNC
Press PGM
Press F1
Use down arrow to select main memory system you desire.
Press F3
Press F1
Press Scan to scan desired system.
Hope this works for you, and you DON'T have to erase any of your VScanner memory items.
EDIT: the above will only work if your main system is also in your VScanner list. (I am not sure if the software does this automatically or if I did it manually) The scanner will reboot and then monitor the selected system.

From what I see on my PSR500 I would agree with this.
However for the OP .. (as has been previous mentioned) if you have the system you want in a file format, I would just download the file to your scanner. That should give you what you want.
Other than what has already been mentioned in this thread, I don't think that there are any other options.

I got it. Thanks for everyone's help especially edmscan. That finally worked. And it's not in the manual either. I thought I was in a big mess and lost everything. Thanks again.

Nice to see you got it working. I know with my PSR500 I would be devastated if I lost my programming.
