RS Pro-106 Scanner Problem Picking up Channels

Yes Trunked System = P25 Auto and Yes Scan List 1 is enabled, still not picking up channels.

A person who was trying to help me earlier stated that Philadelphia Project 25 is a Phase II and stated that the Pro-106 might not be able to decode a Phase II. Does anyone know if there is any truth to this? As I also posted the scanner was picking up channels in Talkgroups earlier today and then just stopped picking them up.

Our database shows that it's in the process of migration to the new Phase II system. It seems possible that whatever you were listening to has moved over. The only radio (so far) that will hear that is the GRE PSR-800

I think the problem has been solved. It was the latest poster Michael-STAX who gave me the hint. I was downloading and uploading Philadelphia Project 25. What I should have been downloading and uploading was Philadelphia Motorola. I downloaded and uploaded Philadelphia Motorola put the Philadelphia Fire Department in Scan List 1 and Philadelphia Police Department in Scan List 2. Hit the scan button and it works, picking up everything. Thanks Mike for giving me the hint.

I think the reason I was picking up channels on Philly Project 25. yesterday was because I kept hearing along with regular police n fire calls a person went on every channel asking for a radio check. Then last nite no more transmissions. I guess cause the testing was done for the day.

Hey rjm, that'a GREat to hear that you are up and running. It's nice to hear that I could help from a distance.
So I suppose you could also have a Scanlist 3 for Philadelphia PW for Public Works and Utils type TG's.
You never know in a disaster what info you could pickup on these TG's that you normally would not want to RX
Also, did you get all fancy with the your Pro-106's LED indicator ? FD TG's in red cause fire burns red and
PD TG's in blue because before the black uniforms most PD's and some still wear the blue uniforms.

With all the Trunking Systems in your county, you have lots of systems that can be programmed into
their own seperate Scanlists so that you can "Enable" and "Disable" them at a push of a button (s).
Note for toggling Scanlists 11 thru 20 you would for example press: "Func" then 1 for Scanlist 11, etc.

Finally, you can lQQk over the TG's & Freqs that YOU enjoy the most, some ordinary and some rare
and mark only them as favorites. This way you can quickly shift listenning gears by pressing "FAVS" !
I use this mode when I just want the big stuff and or rare/exotic TG's and freqs and NOT so much mundane
stuff. Also, if I am doing other things and am not in the mood for constant traffic, like I have a show on etc.
Lastly, since your making GREat leeps and bounds and your learning curve is shooting through the rQQf !
You can toggle the option to "Enable Hit Counts" (WIN500) and I am sure ARC500 has this feature too
So you can later study which TG's or Conventional Freqs have and don't have traffic and how much, etc.

ps ~ Of my many favorite features of the Pro-106 is the ability to not be paying attention and hear some
traffic and look over at the scanner a little to late to ID (but before the next traffic) and press the "MAN" key
and presto you are now lQQking at the TG or Freq that last had the traffic ~ You gotta love this feature right

I took your suggestion. I made Fire Red (Scan List 1) Police Blue (Scan list 2) and I made PA Turnpike Green (Scan List 3). I work for turnpike. Turnpike is still on analog channels. I also just did a CPU upgrade to 2.1. I think I'm making good progress on this digital scanning stuff. LOL

Glad your up and running rjm!! I did the same thing well actually I should say the person who created the file for me color coded the led's!!! I only added to the folder by slapping a few HAM repeaters in there...LOL

lQQking at your county, seems like those 20+ Scanlists could really fill up ... you should do a Federal Scanlist !
with your counties Federal conventional freqs and another scanlist for the P25 Military TRS and your stadiums.

There may be other talkgroups carried on your site ? You'll never know until you program this TSYS w/TG's
